On Inevitability

It was just inevitable for this music video to become one of my all-time favorites...

Pardon my idealist naïveté, but sometimes, when I appeal to common sense, I can't figure out why is it so hard for the human race to trade certain things for others and make life easier on ourselves.
If we just considered:
Art instead of War

Poetry instead of Politics

Equality instead of Poverty

Tolerance instead of Bigotry

Knowledge instead of Ignorance
... I believe we would live under different atmosphere in this Planet.

Nevertheless, the day always comes when our reality makes a Poet trade the Pen for the Rifle.

Thus, killing the Poet...
My home is not on this side or the other, but in the line that divides them.
Nonetheless, I'm always on one of these sides.

I'm never home.
I will never be, so long this line remains...

Viajar por viajar,
por trabajar, por vivir
y otros sobrevivir,
y al sobrevivir viajando
vivir sobreviviendo

Viajando

Viviendo...

After all this bewildering chaos and prostitution indulgence, I believe there is a place for the Academia to survive in this metropolis. I just hope the postmodernist flux does allow a way for it to last for coming generations.

Today, I heard from an academic: "There are people that don't give a shit and people that do. We're the second kind." I embrace my mission with the utmost humility, hoping to find more individuals of this kind.

Dawn in the Valley...

As I stand outside my house after a sleepless night
Enjoying a good cigarette for breakfast
I think and think, what could be the perfect getaway to forgeting?
What could I approach in order to achieve numbness?
Why did I have to go there, where certain lie was about to be discovered?

My heart still aches as I have the whole day ahead of me.
Apart of the uncertainty of where this feeling will take me,
only your essence remains in my mind...

This morning you'll awake to the death of something once beautiful...

"Masses is a herd term - unacceptable, insulting, degrading. When I see a crowd, I see a collection of free individuals: each a unique person; each a king or queen; each a story that would fill a book; each an island of human dignity."
- Frank Capra
I wish I could believe you, Mr. Capra. What a beautiful representation of a crowd. But what I see, living in a place like this, is far from your romantic vision of society. I don't really know if we're really free because we are constantly fed with that kind of statements. Maybe freedom and individualism are really vague terms, open to an infinite number of interpretations. Definitely, for me, they are lost values absorbed by late postmodernist trends. I wish I could see a collection of free conscious individuals, but the only things I see are blind masses.
Who knows? Maybe the blind one, after all, is just me...

Bienvenido a L.A.
